Vaxö Island around with a guide

Vaxholm

The tour starts in Söderhamnen in central Vaxholm and then follows the southern coastline to the island's western tip on Eriksö. There we take a short break to rest our legs and eat something or take a refreshing bath in the sea. On the way back we hike along the northern part of the island until we return to Söderhamnen. The guide will tell you about the places we pass, show you the main sights and small hidden gems and take you to the places that have the best views and which give the finest pictures to your photo albums or social media.

On this tour you get the opportunity to see the whole of Vaxö Island with the picturesque city center, the pastel-colored villas, the fantastic nature areas and the old fishermen quarter. And throughout the trip we stay close to the water and maybe we see wildlife such as seals, beavers, hares or squirrels.

The hike is about 9 km long and takes about 3 hours Including a 20 minute break at Eriksö. Start time for the hike is adjusted according to wishes. The hike can be booked all year round, but is need to be booked at least one week before the current date.

The guides speak Swedish and English and can make some conversation in German. The walk is not available for wheelchairs, wheelchairs etc. No special equipment is required apart from comfortable shoes and maybe a water bottle. If you want to bring your lunch bag, you arrange it on your own in advance.

Start and end: Söderhamnen in central Vaxholm (where the Waxholmsboats and bus 670 arrives)

Price: SEK 500 per person inc VAT (at least three participants are required for a hike to be completed).

Find your way to Söderhamnen: bus 670 from the Tekniska högskolan in Stockholm, boat from Strömkajen in Stockholm or car via road 274.
