Hidden down in the rock, a four-story facility (battery) opens up. It was made for protecting Sweden during the Cold War. See how the Swedish engineering has created an atomic bomb safe installation for a crew of 25 men.
Sweden’s last remaining ERSTA canon is to be found on the northern part of the island Landsort. The canon, which is in excellent condition, was, at the time of the Cold War, the leading canon in the world. It was able to shoot up to 27 km in distance at a speed of 25 rounds per minute. You will be fascinated (or terrified!) by the four storey building full of coastal armoury. It houses up to 25 men, has place in the ammunition room for 800 grenades, and a generator room fitted with diesel motors.
