In Simpnäs, you'll be met by the old ferry berth in the harbour and a beautiful sea view toward Arholma. There's a large parking area if you want to continue your trip by boat or simply stroll around the small village. From Simnäs jetty, the ferryboat departs for Arholma year round. In the harbour, you'll find a summer kiosk and convenience store and, in the same building, there's a summer café serving homemade bread, coffee and light meals. Right above is the restaurant with a wonderful view of the little harbour. Be sure to visit the Björkö-Arholma maritime museum. It shows the heyday of sailing ships on Björkö during the 1800s. The maritime museum also arranges themed evenings, music and singing events. Simpnäs Day takes place each year on a Saturday in mid-July. Activities and exhibits related to Björkö-Arholma archipelago and maritime commerce are offered. Skeppsmyra on southern Björkö lies in a serene environment with beautiful archipelago scenery, woods, farmland, sea, and beaches. Here you can spend the night in Lyckhem's cabins. Don't forget to visit the summer art exhibit.
Take the E18 from Stockholm north toward Nortälje, then route 76 toward Grisslehamn. At Massum, follow the sign toward Simpnäs, Björkö-Arholma, Gåsvik, Edblad. Drive further over Bagghusbron bridge and follow signs toward Simpnäs. Drive toward Simpnäs, respectively Skeppsmyra. Travel time: approx. 1 hr and 50 min.
