Schweizerbadet – sea swimming

This bathing area consists of a large and a small beach, with mostly fine white sand but also some grassy areas.

The smaller beach is quieter, and great for families with young children, while the larger beach with its kiosk attracts teenagers as well as ice cream & sweet lovers. There are changing huts which are usually clean and well maintained, and a long jetty leading out to an island on the smaller beach.

Schweizerbadet has shallow water which makes it relatively warm. It’s a popular spot and to ensure you can park on a sunny day during the holidays you should arrive before noon. Make sure you pay for parking as fines are issued if you don’t. If you’re planning to stay for a while it’s a good idea to bring a picnic with you, as there’s only a limited choice of food available on site.
