Österskärs became a summer resort for people from Stockholm in the early 1900's. The name comes from the island Österskär in Strindberg's novel "In the archipelago." Enjoy food, swimming and water sports at the sea, or go on a guided boat tour. Österskär offers varied buildings ranging from holiday homes and new construction of large houses and historic buildings asTuna Borgruin from the 1200s and Tuna manor from the 1500s.

From Stocholm central take the Metro red line to Tekniska Högskolan. From there take Roslagsbanan to the end station Österskär. Follow the beach road until you reach Öskerskärs sea bathing.(5-10 minutes walk)

Bus from Stockholm.
Take Bus 626,628.621 from Tekniska Högskolan to Åkersberga C. Then take Roslagsbanan to the endstation Österskär. Follow the beach road until you reach Öskerskärs sea bathing.(5-10 minutes walk)
