Peace and Quiet
Stay in our cosy, comfortable cottage, Torpet, at the edge of the forest. We live on a small farmstead with just a few sheep grazing in our fields. We are surrounded by forest and fields and the Baltic is within walking distance. Enjoy the peace and quiet and wind down while exploring the local activities or use us as a base when venturing into Stockholm, Uppsala or the island of Åland. Welcome to Nyby!

Torpet (the cottage), is a very small but charming and comfortable cottage right in the woods behind the coach house. There is a small bedroom with two beds. Small bathroom with WC and shower. The kitchen area in the living room has a cooker/oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker and kettle. There is also a small stove and the sofa converts into a bed if required. In season, you may find wild strawberries and bilberries right outside your door.

Surroundings
There are plenty of country lanes and forest roads to hike and bike. Beautiful forests with berries and mushrooms when in season. Plenty of flowers and wildlife.

The nearest beach is in Ramviken (1500 metres) which is the Baltic sea. We also have a lake quite near, Rådasjön, about 7 kilometres away. There is a great beach with sand and it is very suitable for smaller children. There is also a barbeque area and wind break.
The hiking route Roslagsleden passes by this lake and connects with our village.

The nearest large village is Älmsta (ca 9 km). Here you find a supermarket with post office, pharmacy and bank as well as restaurants and a few shops.

It is possible to use public transport to get to Nyby. The bus from Norrtälje stops just by our lane. It is bus 645 direction Gåsvik and our stop lies just in between the stops Norra Rörvik och Gåsviks handel. We are in a ”Hail and Ride” area so have no actual bus stop. Our lane is just at the Nyby road sign.

We have a number of bikes of varying shapes and sizes which are there for you to use. We also have a rowing boat and life jackets for you to explore the bay or try your luck at fishing. In the winter time, we rustle up some skis and even skates if the Baltic is frozen over and safe to walk.

If you are a golfer check out Väddö Golfbana, approx. 10 minutes by car and for those of you who bring your own boat there are boat ramps around where you can launch your boat.

We allow pets but need to know in advance. Be sure to inform us when booking.

Stockholm city is approx. 90 min drive (ca 10 mil), till Uppsala, approx. 75 min and Arlanda airport, approx. 75 min drive.

About us
We are an Irish-Swedish family who moved to Roslagen from Dublin, Ireland in 2003. We were more than ready to leave the hectic city life and wanted to try living in the country side.

Chance had us find Nyby and we settled in well thanks to our very helpful and friendly neighbours.

All along we had this old idea of making it possible for more people to experience the Stockholm archipelago. To be able to offer comfortable but reasonable accommodation and to share this amazingly beautiful part of the world. We want to allow people to explore in their own time, experience nature, quiet evenings by the water, clear dark winter skies just filled with stars or early morning walks in the forest with the chorus of birds as backdrop.

We have raised three children here ourselves and we know Nyby is very children friendly. Just the space, the animals, nearness to the beach and dwindling paths in the forest to explore.

Please contact us to let us know if you have special requirements. We will do our best to make your stay pleasant and memorable.

We wish you a warm welcome!
